Module 3A Off-Road Training & Test Preparation
Prepare for your Driver Module 3A off-road vocational practical test with practical training at Central Transport Training in Wolverhampton. Module 3A is required as part of the practical test process for relevant LGV and PCV licence categories and assesses your ability to complete the off-road manoeuvres safely and under control.

How Module 3A Training Works
We prepare you for the off-road exercises required for your licence category and help you build the control and accuracy needed for the test.
Book Your Training
Arrange your Module 3A preparation with our team and confirm the vehicle category you are training for.
Practical Reversing Preparation
Practise the required reversing manoeuvre with an instructor, focusing on vehicle control, observation and accuracy.
Take Your Module 3A Test
Complete the official off-road test in the appropriate vehicle category. The official test lasts up to 30 minutes and includes an S-shaped reverse into a bay. If you are testing with a trailer, it also includes the uncoupling and recoupling procedure.
What Does the Module 3A Test Involve?
Reversing Exercise
You will complete an S-shaped reverse into a marked bay. The assessor will look at your control of the vehicle, your observations and your ability to complete the manoeuvre safely and accurately.
Coupling and Uncoupling
If you are taking the test with a trailer, you will also be required to demonstrate the correct uncoupling and recoupling procedure safely.
Correct Vehicle Category
The vehicle used for the test must match the licence category you are taking. For example, a Category C+E test must be completed in an appropriate Category C+E vehicle combination.
